I chose to read chapter 4 that discusses Persuasive Genres. When we want to persuade or readers, we need to focus on what audience we are targeting, rhetorical appeal, and modes and media that will help you get your point across. If you truly want to persuade your readers you need to have a purpose for your topic, and you need to be confident in what you are talking about. You should use strong and persuasive language to sway your readers in the right direction. You also need to be aware of your audience. You most likely are not going to be able to persuade a large group of republicans to become democrats, but if you appeal to an audience that is neutral about politics your writing will have more of an impact.
