“Consider the Lobster” is a very interesting text written about the Maine Lobster Festival. The festival appears to be a fun time with good entertainment and food, but David Foster Wallace decides to dive a little deeper into the topic. He first talks about the many small letdowns of the festival, such as the subpar food and the expensive activities that the festival promotes. He then decides to go into a much bigger topic in which he discusses how the lobsters are alive when they are put into the kettle. This is something most people wouldn’t even think about, but he discusses how inhumane this is for a festival. This text was relatable to my topic for project 2 because I am going to discuss the many struggles of physicians that most people don’t think about, and I want to shine light on these topics that are rarely talked about.
